Ethereum Foundation researcher: ETH daily income may reach $1 billion within 10 years
Odaily Planet Daily News ETH Fund's latest semi-annual AMA, researchers responded to questions about ETH's scalability, Layer 1 income, and security. EF researcher Justin Drake revealed that the first phase of the Pectra upgrade is expected to be launched in the coming months, focusing on improving data availability. It is expected to significantly increase the number of Blob transactions from 3 per block to 6 per block, which is expected to have a major impact on the Blob fee market. While some in the Ethereum community have called for an increase in the "base fee" for blobs, researchers at the Ethereum Foundation generally believe this is a short-sighted idea. Drake said: "I expect that within about 10 years, the TPS of Ethereum will reach 10 million (approximately 100 transactions per person per day), even if each transaction costs 0.001 USD, the daily revenue will reach 1 billion USD :)" One of the goals of the Pectra upgrade is to enhance the economic status of Ethereum, especially by promoting the adoption of 'native Rollup' to reduce the reliance of L2 solutions on Layer 1. Vitalik Buterin stated that Ethereum's goal is to maintain the neutrality of the network. Researchers emphasize that as the network expands in the future, the demand for data availability will exceed supply, and future scaling solutions such as Danksharding will help balance this gap. In addition, EF has also opened a $2 million Bug Bounty to encourage the community to pressure-test the hard fork to ensure the security of the Pectra upgrade. (The Block)
