Oasys Releases Technical Roadmap, Focusing on Three Core Development Directions for Game Public Chains

Recently, the gaming public blockchain Oasys celebrated its second anniversary by releasing an important update to its technical roadmap. This roadmap addresses current technical challenges and user pain points, proposing corresponding solutions and planning for short-term and mid-term technological development. The three core directions of the Oasys technical roadmap are application data availability, layer-two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability.

Technical Challenges Faced by Blockchain Games and Oasys's Response Strategies

Despite the continuous improvement of the underlying blockchain technology in recent years, there are still some technical shortcomings in practical applications. Oasys aims to address these challenges by updating its technical roadmap.

Continuity of game assets

In traditional Web2 games, the game assets obtained by players often disappear when the game is taken offline. Blockchain technology provides a technical foundation for solving the issue of digital asset ownership. However, with the popularity of modular architecture, new problems have emerged - user assets may lack continuity.

Oasys adopts an innovative approach by mirroring game assets on the second layer to provide permanent protection for user assets. Even if the second layer data is lost, user assets remain safe.

Interoperability of Layer 2 Networks

The Layer 2 network of Oasys is called Verse Layer, which implies that each Layer 2 network is an independent "small universe" that allows for full customization of games. However, interoperability between different Layer 2 networks has always been a challenge.

To solve this problem, Oasys plans to introduce cross-chain bridges, adopt a universal data format, and standardize APIs to achieve seamless interoperability between different layer two networks. This will enable users to easily and securely transfer data and assets between various games within the Oasys ecosystem.

ecosystem scalability

Building and maintaining a unique ecosystem is a huge challenge for every public chain. Oasys closely collaborates with ecosystem partners and existing layer two network operators to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to support ecosystem development and reduce technical barriers.

Oasys's Layer 1 Hub Layer provides game developers with comprehensive tools, SDKs, digital assets, interoperability, and ecosystem support. Additionally, the Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK) allows enterprises to quickly access predefined ecosystem components, accelerating project launches and content development.

The technical roadmap focuses on short-term and medium-term development

Oasys's technology roadmap covers short-term (within 1 year) and mid-term (2-3 years) development plans, aiming to keep pace with the rapid development of the Web3 market.

Short-term plan (within 1 year)

  1. Game asset standardization: Collaborate with ecosystem partners to achieve the standardization of game assets.
  2. Create practical use cases: Develop use cases for applying standardized game asset specifications in real-time games.
  3. Provide Oasys Verse development kit: Offer preset ecosystem components for enterprises to accelerate the development and deployment of high-quality Layer 2 networks.

Mid-term plan (2-3 years)

  1. Solve protocol layer issues: Implement a solution to mirror "game assets" from layer two to layer one.
  2. Achieve interoperability: Develop standardized protocols to ensure interoperability between different layer two networks.
  3. Provide developer tools: Provide development tools that align with the Oasys vision and meet the needs of Layer 2.

Oasys has made significant progress in short-term planning. Recently, several practical use cases have gone live, including the launch of the L2 chain XPLA Verse, supporting the well-known games of the Com2uS Group on-chain, and the official release of the blockchain game "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" based on the anime.

In terms of ecosystem expansion, Oasys has partnered with Japan's SBI Group to increase its influence in the Japanese crypto gaming and NFT market. Additionally, Oasys has collaborated with Kakao's Web3 gaming division Metabora SG to support its entry into the Japanese market.

Through these initiatives, Oasys demonstrates its technological innovation and strategic vision in the field of blockchain gaming, while also showcasing its determination to collaborate with industry giants to jointly promote the development of blockchain games. With the gradual implementation of the technological roadmap, Oasys is steadily realizing its vision of building a global standard for blockchain games, creating value for players and developers, while bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
