The heir of Thomson Reuters followed the advice of a fortune teller to invest in crypto assets, losing over 80 million dollars during the fall of the 2022 bear market.

On August 25, according to The Wall Street Journal, Taylor Thomson, heir to Thomson Reuters, lost over $80 million after following investment advice from a medium (fortune teller) in crypto assets. It is reported that Taylor is a member of the Reuters family and collaborated with her former best friend Ashley Richardson to invest in crypto assets. After consulting a celebrity medium and other spiritual advisors, Taylor became deeply involved in crypto investments. During the bull run in 2021, Ashley Richardson managed over $140 million in crypto assets for Taylor. However, the fall in crypto assets in mid-2022 had a huge impact on the portfolio, with consulting firm Guidepost Solutions estimating Taylor's losses at over $80 million. The firm claimed that Ashley executed over 450,000 trades without proper authorization, putting Taylor at risk. Ashley denied these allegations and stated that she was trading under Taylor's instructions. She claimed these trades were to manage liquidity. Ashley also mentioned that there was no formal contract between her and Taylor, and they operated on the basis of a verbal agreement, claiming she did not profit from it. This dispute has evolved into a legal conflict.
