Solana network expansion will redefine Blockchain scalability.

According to Gate News bot, as reported by CryptoSlate, Ethereum's Layer-2 is built for scaling. Solana's network scaling, on the other hand, is built for specialization. While Ethereum Rollups improve throughput, they essentially operate under the same strategy - general block space, minimal differences, and fragmented liquidity across isolated chains. This architecture enhances efficiency but does not improve flexibility.

Solana, on the other hand, holds a different view. Network scalability allows developers to define their own execution environments from scratch. They can customize consensus mechanisms, transaction logic, dedicated storage, and isolated environments that do not compete with the mainnet traffic. More importantly, they can do this without breaking composability or creating entirely new chains.

Unlike the standardized Rollup of Ethereum, Solana does not enforce a single network scaling method. This is by design. It welcomes various experiments—as long as the scaling can verify state transitions and anchor them to Layer 1, thereby maintaining Solana's unified state and Liquidity.

To achieve this, Solana has introduced dedicated data channels, similar to the blobspace used by Ethereum for Rollups. One of the most promising developments is ZK Compression, a result of the collaborative efforts of Helius and Light Protocol. By compressing account states and using zero-knowledge proofs to validate state transitions, ZK Compression allows us a glimpse into how Solana achieves scalability without sacrificing verifiability or speed.
