With the launch of the ETH Spot ETF, the CME ETH Contract has reached a new high in open positions without closing positions.
According to Odaily Planet Daily, with the first listing of ETH Spot ETF, CME ETH futures contracts on Tuesday rose to a record 7,661 contracts, equivalent to 383,650 ETH (nominal value of $1.4 billion). The previous peak of 7,550 contracts was set one month ago, with a standard contract size of 50 ETH. In terms of volume, the CME Tuesday ETH Futures contract volume was 14,736, three times the average daily volume in July (5,010 shares). Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of CME Group Cryptocurrency Products, attributed the surge in trading activity to the launch of the US SpotETH ETF trading. (CoinDesk)
