US envoy: Turkey believes Middle East tension will not escalate

On August 13, Jinshi data, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Jeff Flake said that Turkey seems to believe that the current tense situation between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah will not escalate into a full-scale war. He said: "They (Turkey) are doing everything they can to ensure that the situation does not escalate, and they seem more confident than we are that the situation will not escalate." Flake said at a roundtable meeting with reporters in Istanbul: "We are asking all allied countries with any relationship with Iran to persuade them to ease the situation, including Turkey."
