AI Agent Business Protocol: Opening a New Era of Agent Collaboration Leading the Trillion-Dollar Market
A New Era of AI Agent Collaboration: Exploring the Potential of Agent Business Protocols
With the continuous advancement of AI technology, the industry focus has shifted from model development to practical applications. AI agents, as proactive systems, are capable of comprehensively understanding tasks and making autonomous judgments, and are becoming a new focal point of attention. However, the limitations of individual agents make specialized collaboration crucial.
Currently, there is a lack of standardized collaboration systems among AI agents. To address this issue, the agent commercial protocol (ACP) has emerged. ACP achieves the standardization and automation of agent collaboration through four stages: "request-negotiation-transaction-evaluation," enabling agents from different platforms to collaborate smoothly.
The operation mechanism of ACP is similar to the process of traditional companies issuing RFPs, but it achieves full process automation through smart contracts. Taking entrepreneurial cases as an example, management agents can request services from professional agents through ACP, such as poster design, marketing strategy formulation, etc. The entire process includes stages such as request publication, condition negotiation, transaction execution, and outcome evaluation.
The application of ACP will bring fundamental changes to the agency ecosystem. With ACP, agents can work 24/7 without interruption, automatically perform tasks and receive rewards. This opens up possibilities for new business models, such as perpetual on-chain hedge funds and autonomous media production factories.
In on-chain hedge funds, agents with different expertise collaborate through protocols to achieve functions such as market analysis, risk management, and portfolio optimization. Similarly, in the media production field, professional agents cooperate in a division of labor, handling the entire process from content planning to production and distribution, bringing significant changes to the virtual idol industry.
With the significant decrease in AI inference costs and the proliferation of high-performance open-source models, the agency economy is rapidly developing. It is estimated that by 2025, there will be about 1 million public agents operating on-chain, generating approximately $1 billion in total agent output (GAP). If this trend continues, it is expected to grow to $1 trillion by 2035.
Although ACP provides strong security based on EVM, improvements are still needed in terms of privacy protection. With the development of technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs, these limitations are expected to be gradually overcome, further unleashing the potential of the agency economy.
