Ethereum Founder Biography Documentary Coming Soon

Ethereum was conceived by young programmer Vitalik Buterin in 2013. Inspired by Bitcoin's blockchain technology, he envisioned a platform not limited to digital currency. With the assistance of a professional team, Vitalik developed Ethereum and publicly launched it in 2015. Therefore, he is hailed as the father of Ethereum and is also known as "V God."

Ethereum is a decentralized, open-source public blockchain platform that supports smart contracts. Its native token ETH is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, and Ethereum is also one of the most widely used blockchains currently.

After three years of filming and production, the Ethereum documentary "Vitalik: The Story of Ethereum" will finally be released this year. The documentary was originally titled "Ethereum: The Infinite Garden," but was ultimately renamed to avoid confusion with the Ethereum Foundation.

This Ethereum-themed documentary is independently produced by Optimist, with Carrie Weprin as the producer and Zach Ingrasci and Chris Temple as co-directors. Linda Xie also participated as an advisor. The filming budget came from 1035.96 ETH raised through community funding in 2021.

By harnessing the power of cryptocurrency, we are incorporating movie trailers, supplementary content, and ticketing to create a distribution model that allows the community direct access to films, while funding the decentralized release of "Vitalik: The Story of Ethereum" in theaters and traditional streaming platforms worldwide. This is an opportunity for audiences to become participants, where every click, share, and ticket purchase helps build a new world of decentralized film distribution.

A Letter to the Ethereum Community

In 2021, we first met Vitalik Buterin. He left us with a friendly impression, breaking the stereotypes of "crypto bros" and "arrogant founders" portrayed in mainstream media.

Then, we delved into the Ethereum ecosystem and met many amazing individuals. We collaborated with the Mirror.xyz team to initiate a crowdfunding campaign, raising 1035.96 ETH in just 51 hours. The film industry took notice of this unconventional approach, allowing us to bring more supporters into the fold. This support enabled us to produce a completely independent film, free from the influence of large media companies.

During three years of filming, we witnessed the unfolding of history: the NFT craze, a war that changed the world order, scandals that toppled villains, and the most ambitious software upgrade in history. Between 2021 and 2023, the Ethereum community underwent severe growth tests. But regardless of the chaos and challenges faced, Vitalik remained a steadfast anchor, upholding the vision of an open internet.

"Vitalik: The Story of Ethereum" is our feature-length documentary about the humanity and spirit behind the technology. This film is suitable for community members, those curious about cryptocurrency, and skeptics. While one film can hardly cover the entire story of Ethereum, we hope to make this story more accessible and humanized through Vitalik's perspective.

This film is the core of our "Ethereum Stories" series. Other stories will be shorter and more digestible, leading viewers into the heart of the community.
