The Orbit Chain project was attacked on January 1, 2024, resulting in a loss of approximately 80 million USD. The attacker stole ETH through a small-scale attack and conducted a large-scale asset transfer. The main reason for the incident may be that the administrator's Private Key storage server was compromised. The project party has suspended the cross-chain bridges contract and is in communication. This incident once again highlights the importance of security in blockchain system design.
