Blocksquare and Vera Capital to Tokenize $1B in U.S. Real Estate
Infrastructure provider Blocksquare and real estate firm Vera Capital have announced a $1 billion initiative to tokenize commercial and multifamily real estate across the United States, aiming to increase access to institutional-grade properties through blockchain technology.
Notably, the companies plan to onboard properties to the blockchain using Blocksquare’s tokenization infrastructure, which is designed to be regulatory-compliant and scalable. Vera Capital will launch a dedicated digital marketplace using Blocksquare’s white-label solution, providing global investors with fractional ownership in tokenized U.S. real estate.
The first asset, a $5.4 million commercial property in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has already been tokenized. The asset offers a 5% annual return and redevelopment potential.
According to Denis Petrovcic, Blocksquare’s CEO:
Blocksquare’s Tokenization Infrastructure Powers Real Estate Blockchain Push
The partnership formally began with Vera Capital’s campaign on Blocksquare’s Oceanpoint RWA Marketplace Launchpad, where it raised over 100,000 staked $BST tokens from community members in just one hour—well ahead of its scheduled 29-day target. Notedly, the early success provided Vera Capital with access to Blocksquare’s marketplace tech stack and underscored growing investor demand for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
Blocksquare, which operates in more than 20 countries, builds infrastructure that connects the global real estate market—estimated at $300 trillion—to decentralized finance (DeFi). Its Oceanpoint protocol adds a DeFi layer to real estate financing, enabling token-based staking and reward systems.
Vera Capital’s Marketplace to Expand Tokenized Real Estate Access
Vera Group, the parent company of Vera Capital, was founded in 2012 and manages over $100 million in real estate assets. It operates across brokerage, development, property management, and investment. The new digital marketplace is expected to go live in the coming weeks and will include tokenized properties across seven U.S. states.
Vera Capital aims to simplify property investment by offering fractional ownership, reducing capital requirements, and enhancing liquidity and transparency. The marketplace will target both retail and institutional investors seeking exposure to U.S. real estate via blockchain.
The launch timeline for the platform was not specified, but tokenization of additional properties is expected to begin shortly.
